Ingredients

  • For Spicy Shrimp:
  • 20 Medium Shrimp, peeled, deveined
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Smoked Paprika
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin, ground
  • 1/2 tsp Cayenne Red Pepper Powder
  • 1 tsp Lime Juice
  • 1/4 tsp Onion Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Garlic Powder
  • For Cabbage Cilantro Slaw:
  • 1 Cup Cabbage, shredded
  • 1/4 cup Red Onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 Tbsp Cilantro, chopped
  • a pinch salt
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper Powder
  • 1 Tbsp Lime Juice
  • 1/4 tsp Red Chili Powder
  • 1 Tbsp Honey
  • For Taco Sauce:
  • 1 Tbsp Mayonnaise
  • 1 Tbsp Honey Mustard
  • 1 Tbsp Greek Yogurt/ Sour Cream
  • 1 Tbsp Honey
  • 1 Tbsp Frank's Red Hot Sauce
  • a pinch Salt
  • Extra:
  • 4, 6 Inch Mission Soft Taco Flour Tortillas/ Corn Tortilla
  • chopped cilantro for garnish
  • lemon wedges

Instructions

  1. To make the taco sauce, mix together mayonnaise, honey, mustard, sour cream and Frank's Hot Sauce. Keep aside.
  2. To cook shrimp, firstly peel and devein the shrimp, wash and dry them.
    Apply the shrimp taco marinade to the shrimp, rub well on the shrimp to marinate shrimp. Keep aside for 10 mins.
  3. To make the cabbage slaw, in a bowl, add shredded cabbage, cilantro, thinly sliced onion, black pepper powder, honey, red chili powder, and lime juice, mix well.
  4. Heat skillet, add some oil to the skillet and the skillet get hot.
    Arrange the shrimp in a single layer on the skillet and cook for 2 to 3 mins, turn them to get even cooking.
  5. Once they turn pink and cooked well, keep aside.
  6. Heat the tortilla, add slaw to each tortilla, shrimp, taco sauce, cilantro chopped and serve immediately.

Recipe Notes:
  • Cook shrimp for 2 to 3 mins or if you still feel you need a little more firm to shrimp they maybe a minute more but do not overcook as they will be chewy.
  • Serve the shrimp immediately as they taste best when freshly cooked. So keep everything ready before frying the shrimp.
  • The slaw will start leaving juices, so mix the slaw when you are going to fill the tacos.
  • To make the taco sauce spicier or sweet, adjust the quantity of hot sauce and honey accordingly.
